| Is there anything else you feel would be important for us to know, and if so, please describe? | Justin was an excellent volunteer and fieldwork partner over the course of 2-3 winter seasons. He joined me for multiple days each year of backcountry ski touring to gather observations for the Northwest Avalanche Center. He's a strong skier both in the backcountry and at the ski resort. He's a proficient, reliable, and trustworthy partner in remote and high-risk winter environments. I also worked under Justin when he was supervising a tree-planting project for the US Forest Service. The work environment was multicultural and bilingual, and it included many long days of 12-14 hours, with 4 hours of driving, 6 days/week. He handled this challenging work environment with ease. Whatever challenges he encountered were not passed on or apparent to other workers. As a supervisor, he was easy to work with, treated workers fairly, and communicated well even during stressful situations. He developed a good rapport and successfully facilitated a major project involving a large group of people from diverse backgrounds. |
