Dane is excellent at handling conflict. He has a great way with kids. Personally I have seen him diffuse situations with my younger children. He is calm, and kind and does a great job communicating. Kid respect and listen to him.

Dane is dedicated to his academics and sports. Personally I have seen Dane excel in downhill skiing, mountain biking, and surfing. He always has a great work ethic and positive attitude.

Dane is an approachable and coachable person. I have seen him take criticism and direction very well for athletic activities and scholastic endeavors. He is mindful and has a willingness to learn and excel in everything he does.

Strong communication skills and has the ability to Adapt his communication style for different learning needs.
Passion for the sport: A genuine love for skiing and being in the mountains is contagious and helps motivate students. His enthusiasm can make the difference between a good and great lesson, especially on challenging days.
Leadership and motivation: A great ski coach inspires confidence and directs athletes toward their full potential. This involves not just technical instruction, but also fostering a positive team spirit and maintaining morale in all weather conditions.
Patience and empathy: Skiing can be frustrating for learners. Great coaches are patient, empathetic, and encouraging, creating a comfortable environment where students feel safe to fall and get back up again. Dane is empathetic and patient.

Dane consistently demonstrates an exceptional work ethic, both on and off the slopes.

Beyond their technical skills, Dane Schwarz has a remarkable character that has lasting impression on everyone. A perfect example occurred during last winter… My 6 year old daughter had a bad fall on our family ski trip, Dane was the first to stop and provide encouragement, staying with them and down the mountain, even though it meant sacrificing his own run. Dane is personable, empathetic, coachable, and would be a huge asset to any team at Mt Hood Meadows.
