Over the past two winters, I have had the pleasure to get to know Celia and work with her. As an instructor, Celia actively contributed to both our school as well as other snow-sports programs at our mountain. She is incredibly dedicated to both serving others and sharing her love and passion for skiing.

Celia is a compassionate and enthusiastic instructor who is always ready and willing to work with any student, regardless of experience level and background. She brings a positive attitude every day and she is committed to providing the most positive and supportive learning environment possible for all of her students, meeting her students wherever they are physically and emotionally. My supervisor staff and I could always trust Celia with students who required extra patience, understanding and creativity to make a successful lesson. We had students with sensory challenges or difficulty listening or paying attention, and we could always count on Celia to approach those students with kindness and professionalism.

Celia pursues the academic side of ski instruction though study and training. Celia not only her achieved her Level 1 Certification in her primary skiing discipline, but she has also achieved her Children's Specialist, Adaptive Skiing and Free Style accreditations. Celia was a regular volunteer at our adaptive skiing partner organization, the Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center. She showed passion not only for supporting her students, but also for improving and growing in her own teaching and skiing competency.

If I had to identify an area of improvement for Celia, it would be in her self-confidence. She strives for excellence, and she puts in ample hard work to grow and achieve her goals. This can sometimes lead her to second-guess herself, despite her sound judgment and ability to identify effective solutions. That said however, over the past year, I have seen her grow in the skiing and snow-sports space, and even now her confidence has increased notably. Celia has many strengths, including her passion, her compassion, her consciousness and her versatility and flexibly with assignments. She truly wants to give every student a great day, and works exceptionally hard to deliver.

I would like to give my full endorsement and highest recommendation for Celia in her next ski instruction pursuits; and I hope she can continue to contribute to our sport and our industry with the Mount Hood team. While I would be sorry to lose her as part of my instructor team, I believe she will excel in any program she pursues.
